THE PROJECTED IMAGE: A HISTORY OF DISABILITY IN FILM
In celebration of Disability Employment Awareness Month and the 22nd Anniversary of the passage of the ADA, and in a first for TCM, every movie in the series, 20 total, will be presented with both closed captioning and audio description (via secondary audio) for audience members with auditory and visual disabilities.
Take part in this historic event! We invite you to use this opportunity to engage in a robust social networking campaign to discuss where people with disabilities have been and what the future should look like. TCM has created the hashtag #ProjectedImageTCM specifically for “The Projected Image: A History of Disability In Film.” See what others are saying and share your thoughts too.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED:
Post on Facebook and Tweet on Twitter before, during and after the films
- Adopt one or more of the movies and generate a buzz before, during and after the screenings. Send messages reminding your friends and followers on Twitter using the #ProjectedImageTCM hashtag reminding them when your selected film(s) are airing. Encourage them to tweet their own messages during the screening to share their thoughts. Ask them to do the same on their Facebook pages, email lists and websites.
- Get the conversation going and keep it moving! Inclusion in the Arts has compiled Movie Trivia! for each night. The links to the film series dates are below – share the links with your audience or cut and paste them to engage and impress your followers!
